Process Posts Final Project

1). The first step to this project was to gather all of the materials and plan how i was going to build the car. After thorough planning i began to film my clips that i wanted to use in the simulator. I had some difficulty filming these alone so i needed a partner to help film the clips i wanted.




2). The next step was editing the video and cutting out any unnecessary scenes in order to make the simulator run smoothly. For the most part i was able to get some pretty good clips that didnt need too much work done to them.

3). The final step for me was actually building my installation. This was a lot more difficult than expected as the cardboard was not staying upright. At one point the roof even collapsed but i was able to get it to stay upright for the final critique.

I wanted to create a simulation of some sort. I decided that a car would be the best bet because the film for it was realistic. I thought it would be really cool to actually build the space in which the simulation was being projected in. For the most part i think i accomplished my goal with this final project. The construction of my car could've gone a little better than anticipated but for the most part i think i did a decent job. I wanted the simplicity of a drive in the projection, not something crazy. It's important to enjoy the little things in life such as driving down the road in beautiful sunny Florida.

My full name is Matthew Scott Tenenbaum and I am in my senior year of college as a new media production major. I was born on August 10th 1997. I am from Long Island New York and work as a personal trainer/ audio engineer/recording artist. I have done part time work for Atlantic records as an A&R. I belong to Theta Chi Fraternity at UT and came here mostly because of the warm weather. I enjoy helping others and always willing to learn/try new things. I have been in many situations from which I have gained experience that has helped me out a great deal in life. I am a very hard worker and learn quickly when given assistance. As I continue my journey towards graduating from the University of Tampa I hope to keep achieving the goals I set for myself. I will always strive to be the best version of myself even if that means making sacrifices when necessary.

Artist Research Assignment "Jim Campbell"

Matthew Tenenbaum Artist Research assignment The artist I chose for my research assignment is Jim Campbell. He was born in 1956 in Chicago Illinois and now works based in San Fransisco. He best known for LED light works. With a background in film most of his installations combine film, sound and mainly LED lights. The reason I chose to research Jim Campbell is because after searching for an artist I was astonished by some of his work. He really caught my attention with his use of lights. Not only does he work on installations for public spaces but he also does installations that are used in live performances. He has a great feeling for the use of LED lights to create emotion. Many of his works are still standing today all over the world from 30 foot installed sculptures to different smaller scale projects.
